London- and Barcelona-based boutique distributor Limonero Films has signed on to handle international distribution for five unscripted projects from multinational Spanish-language content producer Secuoya Studios. The titles covered in the agreement are Voices of a City, director Curro Sánchez Varela’s feature-doc portrait of both the famous and anonymous inhabitants of Madrid; the Netflix Spain doc series 13 Days, about the attempted rescue of a toddler who was trapped at the bottom of a borehole; Isaac & Nora, a four-episode series that accompanies Franco-Korean siblings and singers Isaac and Nora Restoin as they go on tour with their unique renditions of iconic Latin American songs; Race In, a three-part doc about the challenges facing the contemporary motorsports industry; and Proximity, a two-part doc profile of the late base jumper and skydiver Alex Villar. “We have been following the development of the new documentary department at Secuoya Studios for some time, [and] were very impressed with the quality of the factual titles we had the opportunity to see earlier this year,” said Limonero Films CEO Pamela Martínez Martínez in a release. “Both the one-offs and the series are impeccably crafted, and are designed for an international audience…. We are sure that they will be a global success, and we will do everything we can to make it happen.”
