British indie distributor Limonero Films has acquired the global distribution rights to an hour-long documentary special that paints an intimate portrait of Scottish rock band Travis.

Almost Fashionable: A Film About Travis, which won the audience award at the Edinburgh International Television Festival, traces Wyndham Wallace, music critic for The Guardianand Classic Pop, as he’s invited to cover the Mexican tour of his least favorite band.

Through candid interviews with the band, passionate fans and other music journalists, Wallace attempts to understand the reason for his resentment of Travis. “What follows is an unexpected meditation on life, friendship and, ultimately, the power of music,” Limonero said in a release.

Limonero has acquired the global broadcast, digital, educational and in-flight entertainment rights to the film.

Almost Fashionable serves as the directorial debut of Fran Healy, lead singer-songwriter of Travis. It is produced by Gezellig Studio in association with Final Cut USA.

“It’s a fun, joyful film that I’m sure will delight fans of the band and those who love music documentaries that delve deep into human emotions,” said Limonero Films MD Pamela Martinez in a statement. “The film is sure to surprise people by its rumination on the UK’s music journalism industry through candid and illuminating interviews.”
